Before you order

Choose a hinge that fits

Back to hinges
  1. Check the cabinet

Face-frame: a wood frame surrounds the front opening. Frameless: the hinge mounts to the cabinet box.

  2. Match the door fit

Choose full overlay, half overlay or inset for the layout. For a measured overlay, match the exact size your door needs.

  3. Choose the movement

Soft-close slows the final closing motion. Self-closing pulls the door shut. Check the opening angle and mounting geometry too.

Match the right restrictor clip

For cabinet doors near a wall, appliance or another door. Confirm your exact Berta hinge model before ordering.

Compare clip types

Each clip is designed for a specific Berta hinge system. Face-frame and frameless clips are not interchangeable.

Purchase questions

A few things to check

The details that help you order the right hardware the first time.

Ask Berta a question
Are hinges priced individually or by the pack?

The price in the hinge product grid is per pack. Check the pack size on the selected product before ordering; two 20-hinge packs give you 40 hinges. Restrictor clips are sold separately in packs of two.

Is half overlay the same as 1/2-inch overlay?

Half overlay describes a layout where two doors share a cabinet partition. A 1/2-inch overlay is a specific measurement of door coverage. Two doors side by side do not automatically require half-overlay hinges. Compare full and half overlay.

Will replacement hinges fit my existing holes?

Compare the cup diameter and depth, screw-hole spacing, cup setback and mounting plate with the existing hinge. Matching the opening angle alone does not establish a fit. Confirm the exact model’s drilling pattern before reusing or drilling holes.

How many hinges do I need for each door?

Use the hinge quantity calculator for an initial estimate based on door height. The final quantity also depends on door weight, width, material and the selected hinge’s load guidance. Confirm those requirements for your project before ordering.

Will these restrictor clips fit any Berta hinge?

Each clip fits specific Berta hinge systems. Choose the correct frameless or face-frame family, then confirm the exact hinge model. Brand, appearance and opening angle alone do not confirm compatibility. Compare the two clip types.

Which hinge do I need for a folding corner door?

Match the hinge’s job in the corner layout. The 135° bifold hinge joins the two door panels in the illustrated application. A separate cabinet-to-door hinge mounts the door assembly to the cabinet. Check the product diagrams and required geometry when comparing corner and Lazy Susan hinges.
